Title: DQM behaviour
Post by: cognostechie on 10 Apr 2023 11:45:04 AM
I am not sure about which forum to post this question on so posting this here.

Some time back, I remember reading on IBM site that DQM will not be used in case hand written SQL is used in the queries but I can't find that article anymore. First of all, is my understanding correct and if so, does anyone have that link?

Thanks so much !

Hi,

I'm wondering if you're referring to the fact that MDX queries can't be coded manually when using DMR? SQL queries are allowed, though.

Cheers!

MF.

Thanks MFGF!

I was referring to the SQL queries, not MDX. I vaguely remember having read last year that in case SQL is embedded in queries in the report then Cognos DQM engine may not work and those SQLs will be executed just as is by Cognos. Not sure exactly what I read but something like that.
