How is everyone handling monthly scheduled reports and having users view them. We are currently implementing Cognos 8 and I'm looking for ideas. From what I've seen, we can set the report to have multiple output versions. If I have a monthly report, and want the last year I'm assuming I would use 12 occurences here. However, when I go to the view output versions for the report, I get the drop down to select which version I want.
So here is my problem. If I schedule a report to run on the 5th of every month, but runs previous month data, my version would actually say July 5th 2008 hh:mm:ss but would contain June data. Mays data woud be run on June 5th, etc.
Is there a different solution? Could we actually create a folder for a report, and then store report views that are labeled "Todds Report - June", "Todds Report - May", etc?
