Title: Database Upgrade. How to do it
Post by: dwsupport on 06 Aug 2008 10:14:32 AM
We are currently using Cognos ReportNet 1.1 with Oracle 9i.
We want to move everything to Oracle 10g

Has anyone done this in the past
How to do the entire migration from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g?

1. Stop your ReportNet service

2. Get your DBA to import the whole Cognos Content Store from 9i to 10g

3. Once you got the 10g running, open Cognos Configuration on your report server and re-point the Content Store Database to the new 10g

3. Start the ReportNet service

Just make sure that both the 9i and 10g are running in parallel. Therefore, in case your ReportNet stop working in 10g, you can always re-point your ReportNet to 9i.
