Title: Calculating within a D-Cube
Post by: abernabr on 15 Oct 2008 12:14:57 PM
Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible to calculate within d-cubes. For example:

I have a d-cube that shows the # of employees per department with a grand total at the bottom. I would like to be able to get % of employees for each department based on the grand total.

If this is not possible, anyone have any ideas for a work around?

Attached is a screenshot of what my cube looks like.

Quick fix:

Add another item to the calculation list to represent the total.  Run an internal link to populate that column in the cube, and calculate your percentage off that new dimension.

Yeah I thought about that as a work around and will probably go that route.

Side note:
I have a strong excel background and at times I expect planning to act in a similiar manner but am realizing that it doesn't.

Thanks again,
Brian
