I'm sitting on Cognos BI 8.4. The backend are Cognos cubes created using Transformer. I recently changed the dimensions in one of the cubes and then re-published it.
For some reason, when I try to view the package in Report studio, the old dimensional structure is still there not the new one. This occurs even after I have updated the connection and the package in the report.
Can anyone help?

It could just be cached. Have you tried a hard refresh? Ctrl + F5
Just found out the same problem applies to AnalysisStudio and QueryStudio.
Cube structure is not refreshed when cube is activated (the 8.4 way, using transformer or pcactivate).
For example, if I change the name of dimension, C8 hangs on to the old name.
That of course leads to error if I try to use that dimension in analysis:
OP-ERR-0181 At least one invalid member reference was encountered in the query.
So activating cube refrehses cube data but not cube metadata.
Structure is updated when I re-publish (update existing) the data source&package from transformer.
It is also updated when I bounce C8 services.
Does anyone know any better way to force C8 to recognize the updated cube structure?
Edit: I am using 8.4FP1. With regular 8.4 republishing does not seem to help.
Edit2: Ctrl+F5 does not help (ie8) but deleting temporary internet files+restarting IE seems to help so it was cache that seems to be the reason. Republishing and restarting and their impact was probably just coincidence.
Actually I believe we may be experiencing a similar problem. If we make a change to the structure, all of our reports break and must be rebuilt from scratch.
Was there any resolution on this?

Are your reports based on a cube? If so, changing the name or structure of a dimension is pretty much guaranteed to cause your reports to break, as the MUNs (Member Unique Names) will change, and the MUNs are used by the reports to identify the required members.
