Title: COGNOS 8.3 --> Event Studio is not available
Post by: Regenbogen on 05 Jan 2009 07:48:31 AM
We are about to upgrade from COGNOS 8.2 to COGNOS 8.3. We also have to migrate a few "Event Studio Agents". To test the Migration in advance we installed COGNOS 8.3 on a separate server and imported our Content Store. Every thing seems to work fine except the "Event Studio". Agents we developed are shown with the Agent -icon and we can start Agent successfully.

But there is no way ( no icon and no link ) to start Event Studio to edit or create a new Agent.

What could be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Meanwhile I found the reason for the problem. We installed "IBM Cognos 8 BI Reporting" instead of "IBM Cognos 8 BI"

I had a similar error when upgrading from 8.1 to 8.3. Both Event Studio and Analysis Studio links were disabled and neither Cognos Support nor our own investigations could figure out why.

Eventually tracked the problem down to having installed a version of 'IBM Cognos 8 BI Reporting' that didn't actually include these studios!! However, for many months Cognos claimed they never release versions of their software with studios missing so the problem must lie with our Content Store. Had to scour the cmplst.txt file to confirm otherwise.

Fixed by installing a full version of the software.
