Can anyone tell me what rights should be applied for granting a developer to CHANGE the settings of a datasource connection. I need to make sure developers can change the name of the server (SQL server) and the databasename.
I think you just have to assign the user to "Directory Administrators" Role...
Yes Gollapudi is correct. They need to be in the Directory Administrators role.
Or the otherway is you can add your developers role to the Report Administrators role and then give permissions on the Data source connections to report administrators role. this way you can avoid opening up a whole lot of other permissions to your developers when they are part of directory admins.
