Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade from 8.2 to 8.4. We have lots of FM models and reports.Can anyone please provide with any suggestions or precautions to take before the upgradation process? Will there be significant rework?

Please share your experiences.

Cognos suggests conducting a full site survey to assess the work that will go into the upgrade. They also have a very detailed upgrade module in the Cognos Methodology application you can download onto your PC. It comes with supporting documents that address questions and concerns as well as templates for deliverables and such.

I downloaded it before the merger with IBM, so I'm not sure if it's still available, but try logging into the support site and search "Cognos Methodology".
