anyone would have any good ideas for design tips for developing a tabbed dashboard for organizing major cxontent ..

please advise

In Cognos 8v3 and beyond, tabbed dashboard is an option.  As ar as organizing goes, it really depends on the needs of the business.  You can change the design by customizing a new skin with different CSS for the tabs.

You can customize the skin for Cognos in the Install location/webcontent/skins folder.  There is a css file and an images folder in the Shared Folder for each skin that will cover most of what you would want to customize.  I recommend starting with a default theme, but backing it up first by copying and pasting it's folder.  That way you won't have to update the system.xml file to include your new theme.
