Title: Cognos Authentication - Cognos series 7 to iplanet Directory Server
Post by: hiranb on 03 Sep 2009 09:10:43 AM
Hi,

We are planning to move the authentication piece of cognos 8.4/Access manager from series 7 to iplanet directory server. Can you please provide info on
1) how to configure the iplanet directory server
2) how to move the users from series 7 to iplanet directory server
Thanks

Series 7 Access manager is the Cognos aplication layer to manage the Sun ONE directory server that comes OEM with series 7.
Iplanet directory server is the older brandname of that same Sun ONE directory server.

What are you trying to achieve?
Move users from a "Cognos Series 7" connector pointing to the SUN ONE, to an "LDAP" connector pointing to an outdated iplanet?

Yes. I am trying to move users from a "Cognos Series 7" connector pointing to the SUN ONE. So how do I move the users and groups to SUN ONE java directory server. Thanks

Your cognos sun one comes with a db2ldif.bat batch file to export the content to a universal ldif.
Then lookup the sun one manual on how to get it back imported.
