Title: Turning off object aggregation in Framework Manager
Post by: civicman4 on 02 Oct 2009 05:03:59 PM
We're just starting out in Cognos 8.4 BI and we're having some issues with aggregation role ups in the reporting footers.  A lot of the fields in our data are pre-calculated percentages which shouldn't be aggregated.  I was at a user conference recently and a gentleman there was telling me that there is a way to do it possibly in Framework manager but he wasn't sure where and I was unable to locate it.  Does anyone know how to do this in Framework Manager or in some other area?

Cognos sees every numerical value as a possible fact (when importing the tables in FM)  and assigns the standard aggregate 'sum' to it. You can easily change this in the FM model in the property 'usage.
If you do not want to' use the percentages in any calculations you can also define them as attributes (instead of fact)
