Title: Windows - AIX problem ..
Post by: NaviGator on 15 Nov 2009 08:46:16 AM
Hello guys,

We have a Cognos environment that is built on Windows Server 2003. On this environment, all our reports are working fine with no problem.

We have now a new AIX environment. When I tried to export our reports from the Windows environment and then import them into the AIX environment, some of the reports are not working with the following errors

Quote
RQP-DEF-0177

An error occurred while performing operation 'sqlPrepareWithOptions' status='-126'.

     Details
UDA-SQL-0219 The function "decode" is being used for local processing but is not available as a built-in function, or at least one of its parameters is not supported.

The same report is working on the windows environment but is not working on the AIX. Do you know what might be the problem ?

Thanks ..

I forgot to mention that both environments are Cognos 8.4.

Any ideas ?

Hi,
I was faced this kind of error in my cognos 8.2....am expecting this error is not the environment issue....this is purely the Database Functions availability for the package....

Check the Database Functions availability for the Package....In the Model and as well as in the report studio... and also check whether you have selected any local processing for the query in the query properties....

Let me know the result....Have a Good Luck :)

Regards,
Sanjeev

Hello Sanjeev,

Thank you for you comment. What do you mean by 'whether you have selected any local processing for the query in the query properties' ? How can I check that ?

Also, the same package is working in the windows environment so Am sure that it contains the required functions. Could the package be corrupted for any reason ?

Thanks ..

the main thing is, some OS's like UNIX environments, have some problem constraints particularly in DB side... but with Windows environment that couldn't, any ways check ur content store(DB) compatibility with the AIX environment.
