Title: Massive update on report, how do you do that
Post by: jive on 03 Dec 2009 10:54:53 AM
Hi,
Just for general knowledge can someone tell me if there is a tool for the following task.

Situation:
We modify the package , remodeling dimension, publish the new version of the package, but the report are not in sync with that package. Now we only start the production of report but we have a least 200 the produce at first and more by sector after that.

Ask for :
If we do again modification in the package we don't want to open each report one by one to update them. Can you tell me if there is a tool to do that or do we have to build one with the SDK.

Thanks for your time and sorry englsh isn't my first langage.

There is a tool called MetaManager: PowerTools for IBM Cognos in which I think you can do this. Check out their web site: http://www.bspsoftware.com/
They are the ones who are behind this community :)

I have just tested a trial version of the program, so I can't give 100% feedback on your problem.

jive,

Are you looking to update the reports to the new version of the package or a different package?  In each case MetaManager can help with the redudancy.  My company uses Metamanger for deployment and development purposes and would be lost without it.
