any idea what is "cognos server tuning" ,if anyone has any documentation link kindly forward...

Cognos server tuning is optimizing the server resources, like number of affinity connections, memory, JVM memeory setting, appication server tuning etc.

but remember:
With the tune settings you can only gain like5 or maybe 10% the rest of performance of the report done by tune the datawarehouse, framework and the report itself

Hey Cogknowhow any idea how we can get the Go sales and Retailers Pacakage for Cognos the version of Cognos 8.4 does n't provide the same

What version are you coming from?

I don't know the differences between the samples exactly but just export the samples of your old version to the 8.4 and upgrade the packages and report definitions?

I have installed the COG 8.4 server for the first time on my system didn't have a older version.

Samples are a separate installation  - look for the BI samples package
