If you have setup Audit database, you can get list of the active user from there.

How do you both define "active users"?

If you definite it with "users who have generally access to the cognos system, irrespective if they have ever accessed the system", then you have a problem with the Audit DB.

How to take the list of users in cognos 8.4

Hi

There is an excel sheet with macros written for the same, the best part of that excel is that imports all the users along with there user classes and even you can also get the list of reports which are accessable to all the users across the Cognos Connection ... all you need is to give the IP address of the machine where your access manager is installed and the login user id and password of Administrator of Access Manager ...... !

Cheers ...

With Cognos audit, you can only get a list of users that have logged into Cognos for at least one time. To get a full list of authorized users (whether or not they have logged on once) you would have to use an external tool, like e.g. the Impact Suite (which is created by myself (little bit of advertising... :D  ))
