Could you provide up-to-date information on the release of 8.5 (or direct me to a place to read about it)? We are asking from a Planning standpoint (we do not have BI).

As far as I am aware, the latest release of Planning is 8.4 FP2. Or do you mean Controller 8.5, which is now released? If so, the Controller 8.5 Supported Environments page is here (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3450&uid=swg27017475). There are no official announcements for 8.5. Until it's to the point where they are close to releasing to a beta program for it, you won't hear much but rumor and conjecture (like any IBM Cognos release).
There are rumors of an 8.4.1 release in the works.
