Title: Excel output to file system not getting correct extention
Post by: elsolo21 on 06 May 2010 10:02:35 AM
We just created a location on a file server to collect cognos output.  When we were testing the Excel 2002 output on the cognos server, it was going to an .mht extention, which is the same extention we get for emailed output.  When we moved this directory to a different file server, the extention changes to '.xlwa'.  How do we get the output to be a .xls file?

In the advanced settings in Cognos we have added 'RSVP.FILE.EXTENTION.XLS' for Excel output.

What am I missing?

thanks,

Did you find a solution? I had to switch to output rpeorts to Excel 2002 because if I sennt to Excel 2007 in Cognos 8.4, and users tried to read in Excel 2010, the labels of the axes of embedded charts would be missing.
