HI

How to i lock down the public folders from any users of cognos. We dont want staff from creating reports and saving them in the public folder section but saving them to the myfolders section. Once a report is  created, verified and ready to be used by cognos consumers it will be moved to the public folder by IT. Basically only read and execute on public folders but not saving(writing)

You can access the properties of the Public Folders by clicking on the properties button on the upper right of the page (while your in the public folders, that properties button always refers to the current open page).

The second tab of the properties define the permissions.

There's a chapter on permissions in the Cognos Connection User Guide. You can also see it here (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/caapps/v8r4m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.swg.im.cognos.ug_cc.8.4.1.doc/ug_cc_i_AccessPermissions.html).
