Custom filter of prompt page

Here is the problem: I want to be prompted for a filter on a query item that has a lot of values ( so the Pick values from a list option is not suitable), but if I try to use the Search for values option, when I run the report again after saving it, all i see is ONLY a list of values from which I can select one or more ( a list that takes a long time to load ).

So, is there a way to change this default behavior, or maybe to create a custom prompt page or link the Query Studio report from a Report Studio custom Prompt Page ( so I can send the parameters from there ? ). Any alternative suggestion ?
