Upgrading to 10.2 from 10.1 and running into cast_date issue

We are having an issue upgrading using the current cast_date function in Cognos. The workaround is to use cast( [date] as date). Tried MetaManager to implement a mass change in the reports but was not successful. Is there anyother software or am I missing something with MetaManager.
