Hi,

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to configure Cognos 10.2.2 Metric Server with Cognos Analytics 11.0.6 on a single machine(Windows 10).

After configuration, I am able to start the services of Cognos as well as Metric Server but when I am trying to create metric package, the Cognos Analytics gives error. I have also tried to use Cognos Metric Designer for creating package but error is encountered.

Please find the attached document for the details of the issue with screen snaps.

Thanks

Hi,

Honestly, I wouldn't do it at this point. Metric Server has just been deprecated:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg22004042

The functionality is now part of TM1 / Planning Analytics.

Cheers!

MF.

Hi MF,

Thanks for the reply.

I am aware that Cognos Metric Designer and Cognos Metric Studio will not be included in future releases of IBM Cognos Analytics V11.0. As there is client requirement for migration from Cognos 10.2.2 to Cognos Analytics and they want to use there existing scorecards in Cognos Analytics. That is the reason we are trying multiple ways to configure Metric Server 10.2.2 with Cognos Analytics.

Thanks
Sandeep

But if you do this, you're effectively marooning your client on the current release. I have a feeling R7 will be along shortly, and R8 a couple of months later in all likelihood. You are putting your client in a position where they will not be able to upgrade. If I was you, I'd be having a conversation with my client to appraise them of the implications before pushing ahead with this (and putting time and effort into solving it). Your client may decide to look at the metrics capabilities in Planning Analytics instead?

Dear MF,

Highly appreciate your suggestion!!

We already tried to convince client to move on to Planning Analytics Scorecard but as we understood client himself has expertise in Metric Studio and Designer to develop scorecards and they are not worried about the future upgrades in Cognos Analytics. Currently they want us to migrate this scorecards from Cognos 10x to Cognos Anaytics as they also got this suggestion from IBM and we are trying our best to get this resolved.

Your suggestion on this will be of great help.

Cheers!!!
