Need to write a json file for customization of role

I recently installed cognos 11.1.7. Please guide me how to write a json file so that through that we can customize the cognos portal for different roles.
Ex: admin can see cognos Manage-Administrator console but other users shouldn't be able to see that

Hi,

The features you are describing here are not customizing the UI using JSON. It's simply security and capabilities management. Take a look at the Administration and Security guide below - particularly chapters 13, 14 and 15.

Customizing the UI using JSON is for things like themes and adding custom links to the app bar or nav bar.
