Hi,

Our FM connects to production database. I created a data source connection on cognos connection to connect to dev database for testing purposes. It used to work fine. But I'm hitting the following error since a few weeks.
QE-DEF-0368 Unable to decrypt username and password credentials

I recreated keys, restarted the server, had our admin recreate keys on the server and nothing helped. I'm able to run the reports on Cognos connection connecting to dev database, but the Framework manager is having trouble connecting when I run the Meta Data wizard.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

The error (QE-DEF-0368) is usually produced when the crypto keys for the FM install don't tie in with the crypto keys of the main CA server instance (from Content Manager). Normally you can fix this by launching Cognos Configuration on the FM machine and pressing the Save button, which forces it to connect to the server and copy over the server crypto keys. If this doesn't work, you should see an error in Cognos Configuration at that point. In that case, you may need to regenerate the crypto keys on the server, but this usually isn't necessary.

Cheers!

MF.
