Good day, everyone! Is it possible to create a real-time reporting/dashboard using Cognos? I'm referring to OLTP and DWH. Could you perhaps provide some high-level benefits and drawbacks of using Cognos analytics for real-time reporting? Thank you very much.

Hi,

In a Cognos Analytics dashboard you can define an auto refresh rate in the properties of each widget - I think the most frequent is every 5 seconds. This is probably as close to real-time as you're going to be able to get. It's really easy to do. The benefits are that you are seeing data displayed within seconds of it being updated, and the drawback is that there are queries running almost constantly against your data sources to retrieve that data.
