Anyone know if legacy Query Studio objects will still run beyond Cognos 11.2.4?

IBM has made it very clear that the Query Studio tool will be deprecated in the next release after 11.2.4.  Clearly that means that the Query Studio UI will be "gone".  We can reasonably expect that IBM will refuse to help with any questions/symptoms reported to them at that point too.

I know that the right tactic is to try to migrate as many existing Query Studio objects as possible into 11.x Reports.  That or to look for 11.x Dashboards as a replacement tool for Query Studio authors.

However, does anyone know if a Query Studio object will likely still run on that first Cognos release post-Query Studio's deprecation?

Hi,

Once Query Studio has been removed from the product, I am sure any remaining Query Studio reports will not be able to run. You'll need to convert them to regular reports, or replace them with dashboards - but this second option would need the content to be re-built from scratch.

Yep. The only other option is not to upgrade beyond the 11.2.4 LTS release, but it's just delaying the inevitable. IBM has been threatening to deprecate Query Studio and Analysis Studio for many years now - actually since the first release of 11.0 back in 2015. I honestly expected them to have disappeared much earlier than this. I guess they need to go sometime - their days are now numbered.
