Urgent : How to execute Sample SDK using Cognos8?

Hello All,
I am brand new entry to SDK and had done installtion as per the user guide.But i am not finding a way to execute the sample programs given in VB or JAVA.
Can anyone please let me know how we can execute the sameple programs on Cognos 8 BI or is there any special commands or setting we need to execute the programs?
Also is there any way we can execute in the same manner a macro from Cognos 7.3?

first, where is ur cognos server is it on separate box or it is on same box?

if it is on separate box install cognos sdk on server and install sdk on ur machine
set library path on both machines

and u can directly execute frm cmd on ur windows or u can execute from eclipse or rad pointing
URL in ur class file to the cognos server

once everthing is set

set cognos report url(package name or folder and report name in sampe class file which comes with IBm
cognos product
